Help

If you are signed in, the full guide is in the app under Help & guides. This page covers the basics for anyone.

Setting up

  1. Step 1
Create an account at ovnit.co/signup with your work email.
  2. Step 2
Add a product, and the help you want customers to find on its page — setup steps, videos, care information, spare parts, warranty.
  3. Step 3
Download its QR code as a PNG or SVG at the size you will print it, in millimetres. Each code also has a short web address to print beside it, for anyone who would rather type.
  4. Step 4
Print a test at that size and scan it with an ordinary phone camera before the packaging goes to print.

What your customers see

A page about the product they bought, in your brand’s colours on plans that include theming: setup help, care, support, and — if they choose — a short registration form with a separate, unticked box for hearing from you. The page asks before remembering their device, and every page links to where they can see or delete their data.

Your team

The person who created the account is its holder; only they can manage the team, billing, and closing the account. On plans with more than one seat they can invite colleagues, and two-step sign-in is available to the account holder and every team member under Security.

Your customers’ data requests

When a customer asks for a copy of their data, a correction or a deletion, it arrives in your account under Data requests, with the date it is due. Deletions a customer confirms themselves happen at once.

Leaving

Export what you need first (Imports & exports in the app). The account holder can then close the account from Settings → Close this workspace; what that deletes, and when, is on the data deletion page. QR codes already printed keep opening their pages while the account exists. Once it has been deleted, they no longer open your pages.

When a code will not scan

Check it was printed at the size you downloaded it for, with a clear margin around it, in dark ink on a light background.
Try it with a second phone and in better light.
If it opens a “page not found” message, the product may have been removed from the account.
The printed short web address opens the same page as the code, so customers have a way in even if the code is damaged.
